hey there pipz! iam going to tell you my first experience riding in LRT1. :)
I, together with Ira and Chelsea (blockmates form UST) had just left MOA from the birthday treat that Daenise and Irving (also my blockmates) gave. We rode a small orange jeepney going to JACK LINER. On the way there we had random conversations (you know the usual.. :)). When we arrived at the Gil Puyat Station of the LRT, we had to fight our way to what looked like a line for the giving of NFA rice, luckily we were able to squeeze ourselves through that crowded line. After that, since both Ira and Chelsea have STORED VALUE (cards we use at the LRT) i was the only one who bought a card.
Our plan was very simple. We are going to ride the LRT and go down when we arrive at the DOROTEO JOSE STATION and walk going too RECTO STATION in LRT 2. After i bought the card we went inside the area where we are supposed to ride. While waiting for the train to arrive we kept comparing the LRT1 and the LRT2 (the one we always ride). We compared their sizes, LRT1 is very small compared to LRT2 also it is very crowded in there compared to LRT2 ( if you experienced being crowded in LRT2, then imagine it 1000x more, it was that crowded). When the train arrived, we were actually SURPRISED coz IT WAS REALLY CROWDED! AS IN SUUUPER! but still we tried to squeeze ourselves in, but sadly we failed. then Ira and Chelsea thought of another way, they were going to ride in the female lane ( a special lane where only females can ride….P.S. in LRT2 we dont have that). so they went for it, and they told me to squeeze my self in the lane for the males while they ride in their lane. Chelsea and Ira, in the end, were able to ride the train but unfortunately i didn’t.. when the doors closed we told each other to wait in the next station.
I, being left all alone, waited for the next train. I already prepared my mind that “I HAD TO FIGHT MY WAY IN THE NEXT TRAIN” ( it look like im in a movie or something :>). when the train arrived i was in front of the door when it opened. i already contained lots of people, but i was able to squeeze myself, when i entered i was so glad but that didn’t last long because a wave of people from my back pushed me against the wall (LITERALLY PUSHED ME). i was face-palmed into the opposite side of the door. When i arrived at the next station i went down (GOING DOWN IS AS HARD AS GETTING ON) when i looked around THEY WERE NOT THERE. it turned out that what they meant by “we will wait for you in the station” was that they will wait for me in DOROTEO JOSE (our destination). So again, being left alone (FOREVER ALONE :( ), i waited for the next train. when the next train arrived i tried to FIGHT MY WAY IN AGAIN but the people inside wont let me.. as i was entering THEY KEPT ON PUSHING ME OUTSIDE (they really were!!!) so in the end i had to wait for another train. When the next train arrived I WAS MORE EAGER TO FIGHT MY WAY IN coz i was GETTING PISSED OFF!. good thing though because the train was not that crowded and i was able to go inside blissfully. Relieved, i positioned my self properly in the train because i was standing ( it was really impossible to be able to sit in the train due to the no. of people there) then suddenly, it all came down…. the train smelled like feet, SWEATY FEET!!! it was so fucking stinky! i dunno if i was just to sensitive or the people there were used to it. BUT IT WAS REALLY SO FUCKING SMELLY!!! but knowing how hard it is to ride the train, i just MANNED-UP and dealt with it (every now & then i try to smell if it was gone, but still the smell remained!) i was so nauseated by the smell add to that the no. of people in the train, it became so crowded that we cannot literally move, also the train kept on bouncing up and down, it was such a hassle for me!! hahah!!. FINALLY I ARRIVED AT DOROTEO JOSE, but to be able to go down the platform there. i felt like I WAS A FOOTBALL PLAYER TRYING TO SCORE A TOUCHDOWN, coz it was so hard going down..but glady i did manage to go down :)
WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!! i was funny and excruciating at the same time!! also, there’s no experience that has no moral lesson, and for that the moral lesson was : LEARN TO LOVE LRT2 BECAUSE IT IS WAY MORE COMFORTABLE!! :)) hahah!!
